CNCO, Karol G, And Others: Which New Latin Music Release Is Your Favourite? Vote!
Another Friday, another jam-packed release day in the Latin music industry.
CNCO released their latest album, XOXO, this week, which will be the final album for the boy band, who announced their breakup in July. This album is special because it is one of their final collaborations. After nearly seven years together, the group is disbanding. “We always thought that if we split, it had to be natural, and that’s how it happened,” the band told Billboard previously. “We’ve been through a lot and grown up together in this industry, and we’re ready to try new things to advance our careers.” We’re overjoyed.”

Karol G, the redhead, has also returned with a new single, “Gatubela,” co-written with Maldy. The song, produced by DJ MAFF, is an old-school reggaeton track with infectious perreo beats. “I’m not with anyone but I’m hooked/ I’m elevated, I feel like a Catwoman/ I’m not with anyone but I’m hooked,” Karol sings in the lyrics. It feels good when he moves my panty to the side, and it feels even better when you kiss me down there.”
Meanwhile, Steve Aoki released a collaboration that had been planned since before COVID. The track, titled “Ultimate,” features Mexican rappers Santa Fe Klan and Snow Tha Product and is a sound fusion (cumbia to rap and EDM). Santa Fe and Snow, representing Mexican rap culture, join Aoki in this trap-heavy song powered by an infectious head-bobbing reggaeton beat, which will be released in September as part of his upcoming album HiROQUEST: Genesis.
