Season 17 Winner Of ‘America’s Got Talent’

America’s Got Talent has a new champion after months of tears, cheers, and, from the contestants, some well-founded fears.

After a round of final, live performances, NBC’s talent search came to a close Wednesday night (Sept. 14).

There could only be one winner when the votes were counted: Mayyas.

The dancers triumphed over a final group that included saxophonist Avery Dixon, country trio Chapel Hart, teen Polish singer Sara James, AI act Metaphysic, and Australian pole dancer Kristy Sellars, who finished second.

The finale was an all-star affair, beginning with a performance by Black Eyed Peas and featuring a number of high-profile collaborators.

Mayyas enchanted everyone in the room and watching back home with an exotic and flawless performance for their final performance Tuesday night before America voted.

Mayyas previously won Sofia Vergara’s “Golden Buzzer” earlier in the season.

“There are no words to describe what we were feeling over here,” the Modern Family star said after witnessing the group’s first performance, calling their first number “the most beautiful, creative dancing I’ve ever seen.”

Vergara is a lifelong fan. “I’m so proud of you, Mayyas.” “You deserve it,” she tweeted following the finale.
