This Week’s 5 Uplifting Moments In Latin Music (Sept. 24)
Every week, Billboard editors highlight the latest news buzz in Latin music, from career milestones and new music releases to major announcements and more. Here’s what happened in the world of Latin music this week.
Coldplay and Manuel Turizo
Coldplay surprised Manuel Turizo with an appearance at his concert in Bogota, Colombia, earlier this week. Before introducing the Colombian artist, he stated that they would perform “the best song in the world right now,” referring to Turizo’s “La Bachata.” Turizo then joined Chris Martin on stage, wrapped in the Colombian flag, to perform an acoustic version of his No. 1 Billboard Tropical hit. “I’ve got something in my eye.” “Last night was incredible,” he wrote on Instagram, adding that he enjoys connecting with positive people and energies.
Bulova and Marc Anthony
Marc Anthony and Bulova announced a four-year exclusive partnership to celebrate their iconic Bold at Heart spirits. “The opportunity to work with a historic and innovative brand like Bulova allows me to create timepieces,” he said in a statement. “I am enjoying the entire process, from my initial sketches to the finished product, and I am very excited to create signature pieces that are very meaningful to me.” I feel like a kid in a sandbox, but with more seriousness, curiosity, and attention to detail.”
