Olivia Rodrigo Pays Tribute To Carly Simon At Rock Hall, Sings “You’re So Vain”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted its 2022 class, which includes singer-songwriter legend Carly Simon, on Saturday night (Nov. 5). Following Sara Bareilles’ induction and performance, Olivia Rodrigo appeared to offer a theatrical and impassioned rendition of Simon’s classic “You’re So Vain.”
For three weeks, “You’re So Vain” topped the Billboard Hot 100. Simon’s only No. 1 on the list. Bareilles sang “Nobody Does It Better,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Six female performers — Benatar, Parton, Simon, Cotten, Robinson, and Annie Lennox (as part of Eurythmics) — will be admitted in one class for the first time in the Hall’s 37-year existence during the 2022 ceremony.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for 2022, which took place this year in Los Angeles, will appear on HBO on November 19.
