Amazon Music And Bandsintown Collaborate To Boost Artist Merchandise Sales

Amazon Music and concert discovery platform Bandsintown have joined forces to launch a new merch integration feature, allowing more than 590,000 artists to promote their merchandise directly on the Bandsintown website and app. Previously, artists were only able to link their Shopify stores.

A Centralized Hub for Top Artists’ Merchandise

The new merchandise showcased on Bandsintown comes from the Amazon Music Artist Merch Shop, which was launched in 2021. The centralized hub offers a wide range of products, including apparel, CDs, vinyl, accessories, and more, from top artists such as Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Adele, Blackpink, Luke Combs, Justin Bieber, and Doja Cat, among others.

Exclusive Merchandise from Collaborating Artists

Amazon Music has also partnered with artists Fall Out Boy and Beyoncé to provide exclusive merch collections available on their respective Bandsintown profile pages. Fans can shop items related to Fall Out Boy’s “So Much For (Tour) Dust” tour and Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour.”

Boosting Artist Revenues and Supporting Fans

The integration is available for artists registered with Bandsintown for Artists, a platform that grants artists access to marketing tools, allowing them to promote merchandise releases, new albums, and live events through in-app notifications, email, and social media.

This collaboration comes at a time when concert ticket prices have been steadily rising, with the average price of a concert ticket on SeatGeek doubling in the past five years, going from $125 in 2019 to $252 in 2023, according to The Wall Street Journal. Merchandise sales have become a crucial revenue stream for artists, and it also offers fans a more affordable way to show their support.
