Billie Eilish, who turns 21 on Sunday (Dec. 18), accomplished more before reaching the legal drinking age than, well, almost anyone. She set awards show and Billboard chart records that will likely stand for many years.

Eilish debuted on the Billboard 200 in November 2017 at the age of 15 with Don’t Smile at Me. The EP debuted at an unimpressive No. 185, but it eventually made it into the top 15. It has spent 246 weeks on the charts, which is more than any other Eilish release.

Eilish was 16 when she debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Lovely,” a collaboration with another talented young artist, Khalid (then 20).

Eilish’s success has truly transcended borders. Her first two albums charted at No. 1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Holland, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Eilish has seven Grammys and an Oscar, so she was halfway to an EGOT before she could legally buy a drink.

Eilish deserves credit for keeping her cool during a period of nearly unprecedented attention, acclaim, and accolades. That may not seem like much, but it is a lot – and young people sometimes want nothing more than to blend in. Eilish was destined to stand out because of her talent and accomplishments.

Take a look at this list of her accomplishments thus far, and imagine what she can accomplish in the future if she, you know, sticks with this music thing.
album.

Her first No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 was on August 24, 2019.

Eilish’s “Bad Guy” became her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit. The song dethroned “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which held the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on that chart (19). Six previous singles had tried their hardest to topple “Old Town Road,” but had to settle for a No. 2 spot. “Bad Guy,” which spent nine weeks at No. 2 before finally breaking through to the top spot, would simply not be turned back.

Grammy Nomination Record (November 20, 2019)

Eilish, who is only 18 years old, became the youngest artist to be nominated for a Grammy in each of the Big Four categories – album, record, and song of the year, as well as best new artist. Mariah Carey, who was 20 when she won the nominations sweep in early 1991, previously held the record.

Eilish, who is only a few weeks shy of turning 18, became the year’s youngest artist to have the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Taylor Swift held the previous record, having turned 20 on December 13, 2009, around the same time her Fearless album was named the No. 1 album of 2009. Bobby Brown turned 20 on February 5, 1989, and his album Don’t Be Cruel went on to be named Billboard’s top album of 1989.
