Aubrey O’Day Of Danity Kane Responds To Photoshopped Instagram Posts: ‘I’m Creating Art’
Aubrey O’Day has been causing quite a stir on social media over the last year, with many accusing her of allegedly Photoshopping herself into all of her luxurious vacation photos on Instagram. Now, the Danity Kane member is attempting to clear the air.
The singer addressed rumours that she is faking her life on Tamron Hall’s talk show on Tuesday (Nov. 29). “I am present at all of these locations.” “As an artist, I look at my Instagram,” she explained. “I see my life and my photographs as works of art that I want to create for the world.” You won’t find me there with my regular friends, dogs, or house. I’m not one of the people. Others do not own me. My personal life is entirely mine. And it’s the only reason I haven’t gone insane or transformed into someone I’m not.”
“So when you see things like this, if you guys can agree, I’m making art,” she continued. I’ve been to all of these locations, and after these photos, I’ll post videos of how they looked. To get to this location, however, you must climb a mountain for about two hours. I don’t have a slew of makeup and wigs.”
The 38-year-old also opened up about her dependency on prescription pills. “To be completely honest, my entire time in Bali was about getting off of prescription medications that were given to me when I was 17 years old because this industry promoted me to be my most aspirational self,” she revealed. “When I couldn’t be that, doctors gave me medications and told me, ‘Take this and this, and then you’ll be aspirational.’ If I’m being completely honest, I was talking about taking 16 pills per day.”
“I was able to let go of the chip on my shoulder that was making it impossible for me to be happy in this world, living,” O’Day said when Hall asked if she had overcome her addiction.
