Camila Cabello Collaborates With Hans Zimmer On The ‘Frozen Planet II Song ‘Take Me Back Home.’
Camila Cabello and Hans Zimmer collaborated on the song “Take Me Back Home” for BBC One’s Frozen Planet II. On Friday, August 26 (one day before the first trailer for the Sir David Attenborough-narrated series is set to be released), the song will be heard for the first time on BBC Radio 1.
The BBC announced the collaboration on Sunday (August 21), highlighting Cabello’s vocals in the song “Take Me Back Home,” which also features orchestration by Zimmer. Cabello, Zimmer, arranger Ane Rozman, and producer Russell Emanuel all appear on Bleeding Fingers Music.
Cabello told her Twitter followers that her “life is a dream.”
“To be able to combine my passion for the planet we live on and my music is a dream come true,” she told the BBC, “let alone getting to work with the legend that is Hans Zimmer.” Frozen Planet II is breathtaking as we try to save these incredible ecosystems from global warming, and Sir David’s narration is deeply moving. It’s a tremendous honor for me to be a part of this moving series.”
“It was a huge thrill to write and record ‘Take Me Back Home’ with Camila and discover that her musical talents are as powerful as her voice,” Zimmer says. The Bleeding Fingers crew and I feel very fortunate to have been able to work on such a groundbreaking and important landmark in natural history as Frozen Planet II. The focus of Frozen Planet II, a six-part series about the Arctic and Antarctic, is “wonderful wildlife overcoming the challenges of life in the extremes,” as executive producer Mark Brownlow puts it. Hans and Camila’s heartfelt original song captures the perilous state of these enchanted realms at a time when their very survival is threatened by climate change.”
