Chayanne Wins Icon Award And Debuts New Single At The 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards
On Thursday night (Sept. 29), Chayanne made an exciting return to the Billboard Latin Music Awards, where he not only performed his new single but also received a special award.
The Puerto Rican artist, dressed in black leather pants, a white tee, and a black blazer, performed his new single “Como T y Yo,” a catchy pop urban tune that samples his ’90s hits “Dejaria Todo,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart in 1998 and spent five weeks at the top.
“With all my heart, thank you for your applause and beautiful love,” the artist said. “I do things out of love, but I’m not sure where they’ll lead.” I just make a song, and it’s yours. That enormous strength and love are what inspire me. It’s what drives me to do what I do.”
The Billboard Icon Award honours an artist who has not only carved out a career that has remained relevant over time, but has also made them the most distinguished artist in their genre, celebrated globally for achieving both musical and commercial success. The Puerto Rican balladeer and pop star, whose career spans more than four decades, has established himself as one of the entertainment industry’s most beloved and respected artists.
