Cher’s Defiant Stance: No Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction, Even For A Million Dollars
Cher, the iconic singer, expressed strong sentiments on The Kelly Clarkson Show, declaring she would not allow the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to induct her, even if they offered her a million dollars. This comes after being repeatedly snubbed by the Cleveland institution.
Cher’s Legendary Status
During her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Cher emphasized her legendary status, noting that she is only the second artist, after the Rolling Stones, to have No. 1 songs in seven decades. Despite this achievement, she highlighted the fact that she is not yet included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Unwavering Stance
Cher made it clear that her decision is final, stating, “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars.” She firmly asserted that she will not change her mind, adding a blunt message to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: “They can just go you-know-what themselves.”
Cher’s Impact on Music
Not only did Cher discuss her exclusion from the Hall of Fame, but she also took the opportunity to highlight her influence on the music industry. She pointed out that her single “Believe” changed music forever by introducing a new approach to the use of autotune in music production.
Promoting Christmas Single
Cher’s appearance on the talk show coincides with the promotion of her holiday single, “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” which recently topped the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales Chart. Her Christmas album, released in late October, features collaborations with artists such as Michael Bublé and Tyga.
Recent Hall of Fame Inductees
Cher’s comments come several weeks after the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted artists like Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, and Willie Nelson at a ceremony last month.
