Christina Applegate Tells Scott Weiland About Her Daughter’s Surprising Fashion Connection

On Tuesday (January 17), Christina Applegate took to Twitter to explain how her son came to be in possession of one of Scott Weiland’s outfits.

She tweeted a photo of her daughter Sadie at the Critics Choice Awards with the caption, “Just a fun detail, my kid is wearing Scott Weiland’s suit from one of his solo album covers.” “Martyn wore that suit because Scott gave it to him in the wonderful ’90s.

And last night, the two of us made quite a pair. This week she sprained her ankle, so she’s wearing a cast and I’m going by the initials MS.” Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021, uses a cane to prop up her body, while her daughter hides her eyes under a black pageboy cap and hobbles around in a boot on her fractured foot.

12 Bar Blues was the debut solo album by the late leader of Stone Temple Pilots. In fact, 11-year-old Sadie Grace LeNoble’s pinstripe suit in Applegate’s Twitter photo is virtually identical to the one featured on the album’s breakout single, “Barbarella,” which was worn by Weiland. The song reached number 39 on the Alternative Airplay chart upon its initial release and was a moderate success.

Applegate’s husband, Martyn LeNoble, was the original bassist for Porno for Pyros, a Perry Ferrell-fronted band that surely crossed paths with Weiland.

Before his untimely death from an overdose in 2015, Weiland had already released three solo albums in addition to those by Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver, and the short-lived side project Art of Anarchy. After a decade, in 2008, he released his second solo album, “Happy” in Galoshes. This was followed by The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in 2011 and Blaster with backing band The Wildabouts in 2015.

In 2021, Dark Pictures announced that it was adapting Weiland’s story into a film titled Paper Heart.
