Demi Lovato’s ‘Holy Fvck’ Has Arrived: Stream It Right Now
Demi Lovato’s eighth studio album, Holy Fvck, has a more aggressive rock sound and a wailing guitar solo. The Grammy-nominated Disney veterans’ new album is a radical departure from their landmark 2021 album, Dancing With the Devil… The Art of Beginning Again.
Holy Fvck, which includes the singles “Skin of My Teeth,” “Substance,” and “29,” arrives seven months after Demi teased an Instagram “funeral” for her pop music. “Skin” and “Substance” did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but they did on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart, where they reached Nos. 13 and 37, respectively. Due to its careful articulation of grooming in relationships, single “29,” released as a promotional single just two days before the album’s release (August 17), quickly resounded with fans all over the world.

Demi stated in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, “One influence that really changed where I wanted to go directionally in music was Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since You’ve Been Gone.’ It was a huge success as a result. I was present when her musical style transitioned from R&B soul pop to pop rock. That’s what I really wanted to do, so I did it.
Demi Lovato’s albums have all debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200, with Here We Go Again topping the chart in 2009. “Sorry, Not Sorry” (No. 6) and “Skyscraper” (No. 8) are just two of their four Billboard Hot 100 top ten hits. (No. 10).
