Dr. Dre Offers Rihanna Advice Ahead Of Super Bowl Halftime Show

Rihanna will perform at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and last year’s performer, Dr. Dre, has some advice for her.

Dre spoke with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 on Sunday (September 25), shortly after Rihanna’s announcement. Apple Music was recently named the event’s official sponsor.

“Oh, my god,” exclaimed Dre, who performed on the Super Bowl stage last year. “Man, let me tell you something. I actually just found out Rihanna is going to do it, and I’m a huge Rihanna fan. “I can’t wait to see what she’ll do.”

His advice to the next Super Bowl Halftime Show performer?

“Surround yourself with the right people and have fun,” Dre advised. “That’s essentially what it is, having the right creative people around you.” She should look into some of the people who used to be on our show.”

The rapper admitted that his own epic performance at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show — where he was joined by Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, as well as surprise guests 50 Cent and Anderson Cooper — was his inspiration.

Paak, on the other hand, made him “extremely nervous.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been that nervous before,” he admitted. “Not only that, but I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a Monday morning.” So it’s all about preparation and surrounding yourself with the right people. All of these people came through for me, and they were all ecstatic about the show. We had a good time, despite the fact that there are a lot of things and people on whom you must rely. You’re talking about relying on at least 3,000 people to get this show right for 13 minutes. So there’s a lot of pressure, but it’s also a lot of fun. It’s like goosebumps when it’s finished, bro. I got goosebumps, especially after seeing the reaction to the show and being able to do it with all of my friends.”

Super Bowl LVII will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023.

DPS will produce this year’s telecast, which will be executive produced by Roc Nation and Jesse Collins and directed by Hamish Hamilton. Roc Nation will also serve as the live performance’s strategic entertainment advisors.
