During Spain’s Medusa Festival, A Stage Collapse Resulting In One Death And Countless Injuries
According to the Associated Press, a “strong gust of wind” about 4 a.m. local time in the village of Cullera damaged a part of the main stage at the Medusa Festival. About forty festivalgoers were sent to the hospital, with three of them critically injured.
One person was killed and scores were injured when a stage collapsed early Saturday morning during a dance music festival in Valencia, Spain (Aug. 13).
Several performers played during the multi-day music festival, including David Guetta, Steve Aoki, and Afrojack. There were around 50,000 people present when the tragic event occurred.

“The administration of the Medusa Festival wishes to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends affected by last night’s tragic tragedy,” festival organisers posted on Facebook.

On Saturday, Valencia Regional President Ximo Puig turned to social media to express his sympathies to the victim’s family.
Everyone was shocked by the horrific accident. “I’d like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the young man who died early this morning during the Medusa Festival in Cullera,” Puig wrote on Twitter.
