Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 26: Nears Record-Breaking Milestone
“Gadar 2,” the blockbuster Bollywood film starring Sunny Deol, is on the verge of breaking an all-time record set by Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan.” As the film enters its 26th day in theaters, it continues to dominate the box office, and its total collection in India has reached a staggering Rs 506 crore. This achievement puts it just Rs 37 crore shy of surpassing “Pathaan,” which made Rs 543 crore, making it the biggest Hindi-language hit in history. However, the impending release of “Jawan” could pose a challenge to “Gadar 2’s” record-breaking run.
Unprecedented Revenue Drops
“Gadar 2” is witnessing highly unusual drops in revenue. Even on its 26th day of release, the film is displaying the ability to increase collections on a day-to-day scale. On day 25, it made Rs 2.5 crore, and on day 26, it is reported to have earned Rs 2.6 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
A Challenge from “Jawan”
The imminent release of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” could impact “Gadar 2’s” chances of overtaking “Pathaan.” “Jawan” is projected to have a significant opening, and depending on its reception, it could become one of the biggest hits in history. This competition could slow down “Gadar 2’s” race to the top.
Remaining Optimistic
Despite the challenges posed by “Jawan,” “Gadar 2” remains in a strong position. With only Rs 37 crore needed to break the record, it is a manageable amount for the film. “Gadar 2” opened to Rs 40 crore on August 11 and peaked on Independence Day with Rs 55 crore in earnings. As a sequel to 2001’s “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” it has already become the second Hindi-language release in history to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in India.
A Resurgence for Sunny Deol:
Gadar 2″ marks a remarkable return to form for 80s and 90s superstar Sunny Deol, who had not delivered a hit film in decades. The success of “Gadar 2” and “Pathaan” has re-energized the Hindi box office after two years of uncertainty. These films are part of a string of successful releases in the year, including “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” “Satyaprem Ki Katha,” “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” and “The Kerala Story.”
As “Gadar 2” inches closer to making history, it remains to be seen how the competition with “Jawan” and the film’s continued strong performance will shape the outcome.
