PRETTYMUCH’s Nick Mara announced his departure from the group to “take on new endeavours as an individual.” The band issued a statement on Friday (October 7) saying goodbye to Mara but assuring fans that they will continue to make music with four members.
“We’d like to begin by saying how grateful we are to each and every one of you for sticking with us and showing us endless love over the last six and a half years,” the band said in a statement. “We’ve had some difficult conversations as a band over the last month that are not easy for us to share with you, but are necessary.” Nick Mara has officially left the band.”
The group is responsible for the hit R&B single “Would You Mind,” which peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard Pop Airplay chart. Simon Cowell brought together the American-Canadian boy band in 2016, similar to other popular bands such as One Direction and Little Mix.
The band said in a statement, “This is NOT the end of PRETTYMUCH.” “It’s simply a new beginning in which we can finally provide you with the music and content you deserve in our own unique way!”
