Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Fun’ With Her Paramore Cover: Check It Out!
Don’t go running to your mother, because a new Kellyoke has arrived. Kelly Clarkson performed an energetic cover of the band’s 2014 hit “Ain’t It Fun” on the Monday (Oct. 10) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, less than two weeks after the band announced the end of its five-year hiatus.
Isn’t it fun to live in the real world? Isn’t it good to be alone?” Y’all members rocked out behind her as she sang. “Don’t cry to your mother, because you’re on your own in the real world.”
The “Stronger” singer’s tribute to Paramore comes just under two weeks after the band — which also includes Taylor York, who was recently confirmed to be dating Williams, and Zac Farro — released “This Is Why,” their first piece of new music in five years. The song, which was released alongside a music video, serves as both the lead single and title track for Paramore’s upcoming sixth studio album.
This Is Why will be released on February 10, following the trio’s 2017 album After Laughter and its 2013 self-titled fourth album, which includes the single “Ain’t It Fun.” The song peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014, spending a total of 24 weeks on the chart, while Paramore debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
In a recent interview, Paramore members explained why they took a few years off from making music as a group before reuniting to release This Is Why and embark on a fall 2022 tour, which began on Oct. 2. “We realised nothing is worth putting our health at risk,” York said, adding that the death of a family friend was one of the factors that convinced the band it was time to call it quits.
“You realise it was at the expense of other aspects of yourself,” he went on. “I wanted to delve deeper into myself and figure out why we do this and how it happened.”
