Lizzo Gets Excited About Meeting BLACKPINK’s Lisa And Jisoo At The 2022 VMAs: ‘THEY ARE VERY SWEET.’

On Monday, August 29, Lizzo shared an Instagram photo of herself and one half of BLACKPINK from the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Special singer approached Lisa and Jisoo for a cute video in a TikTok video on behalf of a fan who asked, “TAKE A SELFIE WITH BLACKPINK ON MY BEHALF!!! PLEASE.” Fans can’t hear what the K-pop idols and Lizzo are saying to each other because Lizzo’s new single “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” is playing over top of the video, but Lizzo reassured her fans in the caption, “THEY ARE SO SWEET.”

Lizzo performed a medley of her No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “About Damn Time” and “2 Be Loved,” while BLACKPINK made their awards show debut in the United States with an electrifying performance of “Pink Venom,” the lead single from their debut album, Born Pink.

During the show, Lizzo’s music video for “About Damn Time” won best music video, while Lisa’s confident debut solo single “LALISA” won best K-pop, beating out BTS, ITZY, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and TWICE. Following in the footsteps of Nicki Minaj, Lizzo clapped back at comedian Aries Spears during her acceptance speech when he made a snide remark about her.
