Maren Morris and Zedd Suggest a Season 2 of ‘The Middle’

Is there a chance for a new Maren Morris/Zedd collaboration?

This weekend, the country singer and dance producer teased a follow-up to their 2018 pop hit “The Middle” on social media (featuring Grey).

Should we try again? In a tweet with the same photograph, Zedd inquired.

“The Middle” spent 33 weeks at the top of the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Furthermore, the song reached No. 5 on the Hot 100.

In a 2018 Billboard interview, Zedd revealed that recording the song with Morris was “one of the shortest sessions I’ve ever done.” “I’m notorious for recording a singer until they have no voice left – just to be safe and never have to ask them to return.” Maren was very familiar with the song.

“Round 2?” Morris tweeted a photo of the couple on Saturday (Aug. 13).
“I’ll never forget the first time I heard it,” Morris remarked. “It was technically in the Target commercial [that aired during the 2018 Grammys], but hearing it on Nashville’s pop station [WRVW] The River, it’s like radio waves pouring through your car speakers.” When the song was released, country lovers were overjoyed that I had written such a catchy track.
