Matty Healy Of The 1975 Has A Viral Hit With Random Auto-Tune Blast
Matty Healy’s latest single isn’t likely to chart.
The 1975 frontman is experiencing an unusual viral moment as a result of an off-the-cuff remark he made at security while his voice was filtered through Auto-Tune.
During a recent concert, Healy exhorted the audience to assist a potentially injured fan.
It’s not the first time the audience has been entertained by Healy’s on-stage antics while watching from their devices.
Healy caused a stir earlier this month at New York’s Madison Square Garden when he whipped out a slab of raw, red meat and munched on it. Denise Welch, an actress, even tweeted about the bizarre incident.
True, the 1975 is popular in America. And so does the United Kingdom, where the alternative rock band has five consecutive No. 1 albums, including their most recent, Being Funny In A Foreign Language, which was released last month.
In the United States, Healy and company have reached the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart four times, including a No. 1 with A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships in 2018.
North American tour dates in support of Being Funny In A Foreign Language are set to conclude on December 17 in Pittsburgh, PA, with U.K. and Ireland dates beginning in mid-January and South America, Asia, and Australia following in early to mid-2023.
