Megan The Stallion Dresses Up Like Sailor Moon for Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival
Megan Thee Stallion, an anime fan, is immersing herself in Japanese culture for the first time.
This past Saturday (August 20), the 27-year-old rap superstar proudly took the stage as Sailor Moon at Summer Sonic 2022 in Osaka, Japan. Megan dressed like Usagi Tsukino from the classic anime series in a blue, red, and white schoolgirl uniform during her hit-filled set.
“No like you have no idea how happy I am in Japan,” the “Savage” rapper captioned a retweet of a photo of herself in costume. Her heart was filled with gratitude as she tweeted, “This whole stadium in JAPAN was going UP for me you can’t fake the love I’m grateful.”
Megan posted an Instagram update at the start of the week, expressing her excitement about the trip to Japan. “If you know me, you know I’m going insane right now because I can’t wait to finally see the JAPAN HOTTIES.” “This is my first time in JAPAN,” she wrote alongside photos of the Summer Sonic lineup poster.
On Sunday, the hip-hop artist will also perform at Summer Sonic in Tokyo.
Megan is currently on tour in support of her most recent album, Traumazine, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. The set was announced on August 11, one day before its scheduled release date. Prior to its release, three previous singles, “Sweetest Pie” featuring Dua Lipa, “Plan B,” and “Pressurelicious” featuring Future, all charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Some of the artists who collaborated on Traumazine include Key Glock, Latto, Pooh Shiesty, Rico Nasty, Jhené Aiko, Lucky Daye, Sauce Walka, and Big Pokey, and Lil’ Keke.
