On ‘America’s Got Talent,’ Lily Meola Takes Flight With Her Original Song ‘Butterfly.’
During the semifinal round of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday, Lily Meola performed a soaring original song titled “Butterfly.”
The 27-year-old Hawaii native sang on the ballad for a lost loved one, “Fly/ I know we’ll meet between heaven and the sky/ I, I’ll try/ I’m going to try to find the good after goodbye/ Butterfly,” backed by a piano and string quartet.
“I’m so, so, so, so proud of you,” Meola said during her critique. “You are stunning, and you have the most beautiful voice.” It’s flying around the room. I think you’re fantastic and wish you the best of luck. And I hope to see you at the conclusion!”

(In fact, Klum has been on Meola’s side since the beginning of the season, awarding the Hawaiian singer her Golden Buzzer after his performance of another original song, “Daydream,” during the audition round.)
Meola was up against tap dancer Bayley Graham, kids group Acapop!, dancing magician Jannick Holste, fellow singer Lee Collinson, U.K. “professional idiots” The Lazy Generation, opera singer-turned-vocal impressionist Merissa Beddows, and others as she closed out the episode. The final results for which acts will advance to the season 17 finale will be broadcast on NBC on Wednesday night.
