Reba McEntire Is On ‘Vocal Rest,’ And Her Upcoming Shows Have Been Postponed.
Reba McEntire’s doctor has placed her on voice rest and she has rescheduled three forthcoming gigs, the Country Music Hall of Fame member said on social media on Wednesday (Nov. 2).
“Because my doctor has instructed me to go on voice rest, I have taken the painful decision to reschedule this weekend’s gigs,” McEntire stated in an Instagram message. “I appreciate your patience.”
The Columbus and Raleigh gigs have been rescheduled for December 2 and 3, with the Indianapolis show scheduled for December 16.
The tour had originally been extended into 2023, with stops at the Hollywood Bowl on April 1 and Madison Square Garden in New York on April 15.
McEntire recently told Billboard that the event at Madison Square Garden will be unique.
“My father roped there in 1946 and 1947, maybe more,” she explained. “And so did my grandfather [1934 PRCA World Champion steer roper John Wesley McEntire].” “I have two pictures in my Nashville living room of my daddy with all the contestants participating at the Madison Square Garden rodeo.”

McEntire performed her debut solo gig at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in October, dazzling audiences with favourites including “Fancy,” “The Greatest Man I Never Knew,” and a medley of Linda Ronstadt hits with Clark.
Meanwhile, the actress can be seen in the ABC series Big Sky, alongside her partner, actor Rex Linn.
“When [Big Sky writer and executive producer] Elwood Reid approached me and said, ‘We’d love to have you on Big Sky,’ I responded, ‘What are you doing?’
McEntire told Billboard, “‘And he responded, ‘Playing the evil.'” “I knew I had to do it right now, and Rex was sitting at the table, saying, ‘That’s what she’s been waiting for.’ He asked, ‘Is that Rex?’ We want you to be a part of this as well.’ It’s so much fun because we’re in this together.”
