Ringo Starr Is Promoting A Beatles Blu-ray Collection With Images Of Feet
Ringo Starr is putting his best foot forward with the release of a new Beatles Blu-ray box set. The legendary drummer caused a stir on the internet on Saturday when he tweeted a close-up photo of his toes alongside a copy of The Beatles: Get Back on the Floor.
“YES peace and love,” Starr captioned the photo (he was also wearing “peace and love” sandals). “Ringo’s toes literally look like dehydrated SpongeBob,” one commenter said, demonstrating that celebrities do read their mentions. Starr then posted another photo three hours later, explaining that he had gotten a pedicure.
Whether intentional or not, Starr’s slip increased interest in The Beatles: Get Back on Blu-ray. Fans can continue to watch the three-part documentary series on Disney+, but they can now also purchase a physical copy of The Beatles: Get Back.
The collector’s edition Blu-ray set contains more than eight hours of content spread across three discs, and both the visuals and audio have been restored and rendered in Dolby Atmos sound. The box set includes collectible photo cards of the Beatles as well as unique packaging in addition to the Blu-ray discs.
The Get Back Blu-ray set is currently available for $69.98 on Amazon, saving you 30% off the list price of $99.95+. The collection was released in July. The Beatles: Get Back is currently available on DVD for $24.99.
The Beatles: Get Back, a three-part documentary, was released last fall. It follows the creation of the band’s classic 1970 album Let It Be (which had the working title of Get Back). Before their now-famous rooftop concert at the Apple Corps building, Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison are captured in the studio and on the streets of London in Peter Jackson’s documentary.
In addition to the recently released Blu-ray and DVD box sets, the series spawned a photo book and promoted a special “Super Deluxe” five-disc edition of the Let It Be album.
Starr, for one, recently cancelled his All Starr Band’s summer tour dates after learning that several of its members had tested positive for Covid. The band will embark on an autumn tour in September.
