Season 8 Of ‘The Masked Singer’ Features Significant Format Alterations
Season 8 of The Masked Singer will premiere later this month, and fans can expect significant changes to the format of the hit reality show.
For the first time, each episode will begin with a brand-new round of masked celebrities, with only one contestant progressing by the end of the hour. In addition, the audience will vote in-studio for their favourite performance of the night, and the singer with the lowest tally will unmask in the middle of the show before joining the new Masked Singer VIP section to watch the rest of the episode.
When the group is reduced to the final two singers, they will compete in the same song for the title of King or Queen of The Masked Singer and advance to the next episode.
The batch of episodes will also include theme nights such as Vegas Night, Comedy Roast, Hall of Fame, Muppets Night, Andrew Lloyd Webber Night, TV Themes, ’90s Night, Thanksgiving, and Fright Night, according to a release.
The new format also allows for more costumed celebrities than ever before, with creative outfits such as Scarecrow, Venus Fly Trap, Sir Bugaboo, Bride, Avocado, Hedgehog, Mummies, and more, while returning judges Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, and Ken Jeong will be joined by all-star guests for the season such as Donny Osmond, Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Muppets, Will Arnett, Leslie Jordan, Joel McHale,
