Shania Twain Says Working With Harry Styles Is ‘My Dream’: ‘Magic Will Happen, I’m Sure’

Shania Twain clearly adores Harry Styles, and she hopes to collaborate with the former One Direction member on some music in the future when the time is right.

The country singer, who previously appeared onstage with Styles at Coachella in April to perform “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and “You’re Still the One” — sat down with TV personality Nancy O’Dell on the Monday episode of TalkShopLive to discuss her upcoming album, Queen of Me, the amount of music she’s sitting on, and a possible Styles collaboration.

“I shared the stage with Harry Styles [at Coachella].” He invited me on stage, which was fantastic, and he’s a lovely, lovely person. I’d say lovely child, but he’s not a child anymore, is he? “He’s a man,” she said of the singer of “Watermelon Sugar.” “[A collaboration] is my dream, yes.” He’s currently working on a film. That would be fantastic. Make it public! Absolutely, make it happen. And I’m confident that magic will occur.”

Regarding Twain’s latest album, Queen of Me, she told TalkShopLive that the pandemic gave her a lot of time to step back and write. The lockdown period was fruitful for the singer, who claims she wrote enough material for multiple albums during the Queen of Me writing sessions.

“The COVID period provided me with more time than I expected,” Twain explained. “Basically, I wrote four albums’ worth of music.” This is only the start. I wrote a lot of music because I was so productive. So it was difficult to narrow it down to what would then be this album, Queen of Me, but of course, once I determined the real focus of the album’s sentiment, what I want to express personally out there right now, which is the Queen of Me message, be the queen of yourself, the boss of you, and take responsibility for the good, the bad, and everything in between, the songs naturally fell into place after that, once I had a good beginning, which w

When asked if Queen of Me has “truly” four separate albums, Twain replied, “Oh yes. Definitely.” Those albums will not be released any time soon. “I believe we’ll have to wait a while.” “It’ll be a long time because I still have a tour coming up and I have so many projects,” Twain added. “I’d say at least a year.” It could take a few years.”
