Taylor Swift Recreates Iconic Looks From The Past In Capital One Commercial: Watch Now
Taylor is unable to answer the phone right now since she is filming a Capitol One promo. Taylor Swift starred as a dozen incarnations of her prior self in a highly nostalgic promo for the bank holding company’s Venture X credit card aired late Monday (Nov. 1), recreating her most memorable looks from past album cycles spanning 2006 to 2022.
In one scene, Taylor, dressed in one of the dazzling dresses she donned during the 1989 World Tour in 2015, tries on some headphones. “They’re noise cancelling!” she exclaims, dancing to a beat she alone can hear.
“You’re being too loud,” a second Taylor responds, referring to a line from Swift’s 2019 Lover ballad “You Need to Calm Down.”
The second Taylor, clad in a purple dress and ponytail from Swift’s 2011 Speak Now Tour, reappears in a later scene, seeing a Capitol One customer use his phone to book seat 13A on Flight 1989.
“Good pick!” exclaims Speak. Taylor is now pointing to a number 13 painted on her hand. “This is my lucky number.”
The Taylors are next pictured crowded inside an elevator. “Are you going up?” says one Taylor, dressed in the dazzling circus ringleader suit she wore on the Red Tour in 2013.
A Taylor in a unitard look from the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, a Taylor in one of her legendary Folklore cardigans, and a curly-haired Taylor from her debut self-titled album cycle all join the other Taylors in the elevator for an epic group selfie.
The commercial follows Swift’s declaration that she will go on tour next year, after a five-year hiatus from live concerts. The Eras Tour, presented by Capitol One, will see the 11-time Grammy winner perform in stadiums around the United States (international dates have yet to be confirmed), with guests including Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, Beabadoobee, HAIM, and others.
