Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ Remains At No. 1 In The United Kingdom.
It’s still midnight in the United Kingdom, where Taylor Swift has another chart double.
Midnights, the pop superstar’s ninth and most recent album, has topped the Official Albums Chart for the second week in a row, smashing records in its opening verse. On the national singles chart, which was released on November 4, album opener “Anti-Hero” remains at the top for a second week.
TayTay beats out none other than the Beatles, whose legendary album from 1966, Revolver, reenters at No. 2. According to the OCC, Revolver topped the UK chart for seven weeks after its initial release and has now climbed into the top five for the first time since December 1966.
During their all-too-brief musical career, the Beatles altered chart history. No other act has as many No. 1 albums in the United Kingdom as they do. This week’s best-seller on vinyl is the remixed and enlarged Revolver box set.
Together In Vegas by Michael Ball and Alfie Boe is the highest debut on the latest period, charting at No. 3 in the United Kingdom. It’s the duo’s fifth top 5 album, following Together (No. 1) in 2016, Together Again (No. 1) in 2017, Back Together (No. 2) in 2019, and Together At Christmas in 2020. (No. 1).
Meanwhile, Actual Life 3, the concluding instalment of London producer Fred Again’s Actual Life trilogy, enters the top 5 for the first time. It’s a new entry at No. 4.
This week’s top ten in the United Kingdom includes new releases by Massive Wagons (TRIGGERED! at No. 6), Tom Odell (Best Day Of My Life at No. 7), and Foo Fighters (The Essential at No. 10)
However, farther down the list, Will Of The People, a 3xLP collection of rare B-sides, remixes, and live recordings from 2002 to 2021, marks Paul Weller’s 27th Top 40 performance. It debuted at No. 15 this year.
Finally, after performing as an opening act for Ed Sheeran earlier this year, rising singer-songwriter Dylan (real name Natasha Woods) achieves her first top 20 hit with The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn. It’s brand new at No. 19.
