The Tinnin Family’s Radiant Christmas Village Shines On ‘The Great Christmas Light Fight’
In a surprising turn of events, the Tinnin family of Bay City, Texas, has unintentionally become a symbol of holiday joy and community unity over the past decade.
A Decade of Festive Tradition
Ten years ago, the Tinnin family moved to Bay City with no inkling that their home on Avenue K would evolve into the radiant Tinnin Christmas Village. Tammi Tinnin, a teacher, was inspired to start this annual tradition after realizing her students were unfamiliar with traditional Christmas light displays.
From Humble Beginnings to Themed Extravaganza
The Tinnin Christmas Village now boasts 17 themed stations, including the beloved ‘Lonestar Lane’ and ‘Rudolph’s Runway.’ Setting up this festive wonderland is no small task, requiring three months of meticulous planning and significant community involvement.
Spreading Joy Beyond Their Neighborhood
The Christmas display not only illuminates their local neighborhood but also warms the hearts of all who visit. Trent Tinnin, a family member, expresses the hope that the spectacle brings joy and encourages visitors to savor the moment.
Competition on National Stage
The Tinnin Family is set to showcase their radiant creation on ABC’s ‘The Great Christmas Light Fight,’ airing on December 12th. This competition adds a thrilling twist to their yearly tradition, putting their festive masterpiece in the national spotlight.
Lights On Every Night Until Christmas
To the delight of both locals and visitors, the Tinnin Christmas Village will be open every night for free until December 25th, from 6 PM to 10 PM. This provides ample opportunity for everyone to experience the magic of their holiday creation.
The Tinnin family’s journey from a simple desire to share the joy of Christmas lights with their community to a nationally recognized spectacle is a testament to the power of festive traditions and the impact they can have on both local and global stages.
