We’re On A Spelling Highway: The AC/DC Kid’s Book Is On The Way
AC/DC have accomplished everything in rock ‘n’ roll, including multi-million-selling albums, stadium fillings around the world, and induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Iron Man, for one, is a fan.
Angus Young and company approved The AC/DC AB/CD High-Voltage Alphabet, which will be available in stores on November 11 and online at lovepolicebooks.com.
It’s the fourth in a series of kid’s picture books released by Australian merch and lifestyle company, Love Police, following Never Mind Your Ps and Qs, Here’s the Punk Alphabet, M Is For Metal, and the Country and Western Alphabet Book. It’s illustrated by Paul “The Mayor” McNeil.

“From the greatest rock n roll band in history, comes the most rockin’ alphabet book ever,” says the blurb on the new A$24.95 ($15.80) page-turner.
“Join Angus, Malcolm, Bon, Brian, and the boys for a classic alphabet stroll.” As you wind down the Highway To Spell, every page bursts with colour, humour, and the band’s history.”
The most recent look at Akka Dakka, as they’re known around here, came about when Young obtained M is for Metal while in Australia during the pandemic. He got in touch with Love Police Chief Brian Taranto, and the conversation shifted from rock ‘n’ roll stories to the written word.
“It’s an honour to be working on this book, and having a connection to Angus for the real deal stuff makes it even more wild and special,” Taranto says. “It’s a children’s book, but any AC/DC or music fan will find something to enjoy on every page.”
“The Mayor has done a fantastic and rockin’ job.” We are excited to educate the next generation of rock and rollers.”
Several generations have already been educated by AC/DC. Power Up, the band’s 17th and most recent studio album, debuted at No. 1 in the United States (their third No. 1), the United Kingdom (fourth No. 1), and Australia (sixth). In 1988, the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, and in 2003, it was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
