With ‘Afraid To Feel,’ LF System Is Set To Spend An Eighth Week At The Top Of The UK Charts.
The four members of LF System are aiming to stay at the top of the UK charts for a record-breaking eighth week in a row.
Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan of Scotland are the midweek chart leaders with their disco-tinged smash “Afraid to Feel” (Warner Records).
“Afraid to Feel” would be two months ahead of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” a hit from Disney’s Encanto that topped the weekly chart for seven weeks earlier this year. Only Harry Styles’ “As It Was” has remained at the top of the charts for ten weeks in a row this year.
OneRepublic’s (Interscope) Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack single “I Ain’t Worried” is also doing very well. It appears that a new high of 6-5 will be set.
This week’s most anticipated new release should be Aitch and Ed Sheeran’s single “My G.” (Capitol). This song appears on Aitch’s highly anticipated first full-length album, Close To Home, which is currently the week’s most streamed album.

The collaboration of Australian DJ/producer Luude with Mattafix on “Big City Life” (Warner Records) is also noteworthy. This follows Luude’s cover of Men At Work’s “Down Under,” which also featured Colin Hay and reached No. 5.
Finally, the lead single from Blackpink’s upcoming comeback album, “Pink Venom,” is expected to debut at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, a new high for the group. The K-pop group has charted in the UK Top 40 six times, with their duet with Lady Gaga, “Sour Candy,” peaking at No. 17 in 2020.
The Official UK Singles Chart is updated every Friday (Aug. 26).
