Miley Cyrus Celebrates Another Week At The Top Of The Hot 100 With ‘Flowers,’ Thanks Fans For ‘Connecting In Such A Positive Way’
Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” has spent a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated February 4, 2023), after previously reaching the peak. To commemorate the occasion, the singer resorted to social media to share some film-style photographs of herself dancing and having a good time.
“Celebrating ‘Flowers’ becoming #1 around the world again this week,” she wrote in the description of her Instagram image. “I love that this record is connecting in such a wonderful way & it’s a pleasure to continue creating music for you. These achievements would not be achievable without the support of my great followers and listeners. “I am eternally grateful.”
Cyrus first announced the release date of “Flowers” on her Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party NBC special on January 13, which fans recognised as her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth’s birthday. That story and discussion on TikTok have helped raise the prominence of the song, which is the lead single from Cyrus’ eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which is coming March 10.
For the second week in a row, “Flowers” was the most streamed song in a week on Spotify. While Spotify did not provide particular numbers, the smash track first reached the milestone in the week of January 19, making it all the more astonishing that Cyrus managed to outdo herself for the second week in a row. It also fuelled the streaming statistics of Bruno Mars’ “If I Was Your Man,” which “Flowers” slyly plays on without melodically replicating or interpolating any of the No. 1 torch song.
