DJ Khaled Discusses ‘God Did It,’ Reuniting With ‘Favorite Artists’ Drake and Lil Baby: Watch
In a new interview from his home in Miami, DJ Khaled discusses his upcoming album God Did with Billboard News.
The producer discussed reaching his 13th album milestone with the upcoming release, which is due out Friday (Aug. 26) via We the Best/Epic Records, in an interview with Billboard’s Carl Lamarre.
“It’s incredible for me to get to the 13th album,” he said. “I know I’m on the right track when I look up to the greats and see how many albums they put out.” And I understand how difficult it is to break into the music industry — some people never make it past their first single or album.”
The DJ talked about the album’s lead single, an interpolation of the Bee Gees’ classic “Stayin’ Alive,” as well as Drake and Lil Baby’s guest appearances. “It’s ideal for ‘Staying Alive’ to be the lead single,” Khaled said. “Because you take into account everything that all of us are going through.” We’re out here in the open, dodging everything. And ‘Staying Alive’ immediately connects with listeners. My favourite artists are Drake and Lil Baby because they are my brothers.”

had a hand in choosing the cover art for the new studio set. “I’m a huge Jay-Z fan,” he admitted. “I always give him two cover options and let him decide.” And I did it again on this album. He approached me after I finished playing it and said, ‘Yo, this is your best album.’ I adore you, Jay-Z!”
