At the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Maluma Gets Romantic With New Single ‘Junio’

Maluma performed his new single “Junio” at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards in a set straight from La Comuna 13 — a popular neighbourhood in his hometown of Medelln, Colombia.

Maluma also appeared at Billboard Latin Music Week for a Superstar Q&A, where he discussed launching his new record label, falling in love, and Marc Anthony’s advice. “Everything in life requires enthusiasm and love,” he said.

“Marc Anthony has been a blessing in my life because he gave me advice in the beginning, which was not happening [otherwise],” he continues. When he told me that sometimes you have to be a little selfish — live your own happiness and calm — I remembered how tired I was of doing everything for everyone else. ‘Hey, there’s no formula, you just have to be yourself,’ Marc said. That’s when I was free to do whatever I wanted.”

The 29th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards are being broadcast live on Telemundo, as well as on the Spanish entertainment cable network Universo and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional. The awards, produced by MBS Special Events and executive produced by Mary Black Suarez, coincide with Billboard Latin Music Week, which returned to Miami from September 26 to October 1 at the Faena Forum, with a lineup of star speakers that included, among others, Romeo Santos, Maluma, Grupo Firme, Chayanne, Ivy Queen, and Nicky Jam.
