Avril Lavigne Performs ‘No One Needs To Know’ In Honor Of Shania Twain At The ACM Honors: Watch
ACM Poet’s Award recipient Shania Twain was feted by multiple artists, including Kelsea Ballerini and Avril Lavigne, at the recent ACM Honors, held at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Twain is a co-writer on the majority of her own hits, including “Any Man of Mine,” “From This Moment On,” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and has three of her albums certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. Twain shared the ACM Poet’s Award with Sonny Throckmorton (known for writing songs such as Merle Haggard’s “The Way I Am” and George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away”).

Twain was honoured with a performance of Twain’s 1996 song “No One Needs to Know,” a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.
Following the performance, Twain told Lavigne, “You should have gone into country music.” Lavigne also wore her own hooded leopard-print ensemble for the performance, paying homage to Twain’s signature leopard outfit from her “That Don’t Impress Me Much” video.
Twain’s previous ACM Awards nominations include top new female vocalist and album of the year (for The Woman in Me), as well as ACM entertainer of the year in 2000.
Miranda Lambert (ACM Triple Crown winner), Morgan Wallen (Milestone Award winner), HARDY (ACM songwriter of the year), and Chris Stapleton were among those honoured at this year’s ACM Honors (the ACM spirit award winner).
The ACM Honors will air on Fox on Tuesday, September 13th. In the video above, you can see Lavigne’s tribute to Twain.
