Blake Shelton’s ‘No Body’ Has a ’90s Vibe: Stream It Right Now

Blake Shelton released his new single “No Body” on Friday (August 19), which is heavily influenced by 1990s country music. Shelton, who moved to Nashville in the 1990s to pursue his own country music dreams, is no stranger to success, having had 28 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

“Every time we release new music, I get excited and feel like a kid,” Shelton said in a press release. This song sounds exactly like the music of the 1990s when I was in high school and new to Nashville.

The video for “No Body” was shot in a Los Angeles country music bar, in a neon-coded homage to the days when country music videos featured line dancing on a regular basis. Shelton is seen here wearing a cowboy hat as well as his trademark mullet.
As a preview of the song, Shelton tweeted, “Had to bring back the mullet just for y’all…”

Shelton will perform at the Grand Ole Opry’s early and late shows on Saturday, September 10. Shelton was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry for the first time on October 23, 2010, making this his 12th year as a member.
Body Language, Shelton’s most recent album, was released in 2021. It included the singles “Happy Anywhere,” “Minimum Wage,” and “Come Back as a Country Boy,” which featured his wife and fellow artist Gwen Stefani.
