Zedd and Maren Morris Return With New Bouncy Collaboration ‘Make You Say’: Stream It Right Now
Four years have passed since their first collaboration, “The Middle,” and now Zedd and Maren Morris are back with a new song. (Zedd)
Morris sings about how much her ex will miss her to Zedd’s buoyant, effervescent production on the light dance-pop tune “Make You Say.” Bernie and Johan Yang of the Beauz production team contributed to the song’s composition. Please listen to the song for a few minutes.
Zedd says he started working on the record with Beauz three or four years ago. (Zedd)
We communicated back and forth for several years to fine-tune the production, and eventually Charlie and I got together in the studio to compose the song’s melody. I flew to Nashville to record the final vocal for “Make You Say” after hearing a demo Maren had recorded, and she completely transformed the song. This new chapter starts with the song ‘Make You Say,’ and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear it.

“The Middle” spent 40 weeks on the Hot 100, peaking at #5 in April of 2018. This is Zedd’s second highest charting song, following “Break Free,” a 2014 duet with Ariana Grande that peaked at No. 4. This is Morris’s most successful Hot 100 hit. (Zedd)
Charlie Puth, who co-wrote “Make You Say” with Zedd, Morris, BEAUZ, and Jacob Kasher Hindlin, gives this already spectacular duo even more star power (One Direction, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5.)
In a joint statement, Beauz expresses gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to “such an epic project.” To quote one of my favourite sayings, “It’s all worth it in the end.”
