Carin Leon, Boza, And Others: Which New Latin Music Release Is Your Favourite? Vote!
This week, regional Mexican anthems from Kany Garca and Christian Nodal, Carin Leon and Pepe Aguilar and Ro Roma, and a striking ballad by Natalia Lafourcade topped our First Stream Latin roundup, which is a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums, and videos recommended by the Billboard Latin editors. But which new release was your favourite this week?
Garca and Nodal collaborated for the first time on Richi Lopez’s heartfelt and powerful “La Siguiente” (The Next One). In a ranchera with urban influences, the Puerto Rican artist begins with lyrics about maturing after a toxic and narcissistic relationship. In the meantime, Mexican singer-songwriter Lafourcade previewed her forthcoming album (due out on October 28) by releasing her new single, “De Todas Las Flores,” which is poetry and a love letter to oneself.
“I wrote it in 2018 following a breakup,” Natalia said of the song. “A relationship that started with passion and fireworks degenerated into agony and self-destruction. Sometimes, such moments are necessary for us to comprehend that love is more closely tied to the respect we have for ourselves. The phrase “De Todas Las Flores” refers to the innermost flowers. When will we perform? When are we playing? When exactly do we get to return to ourselves?” The forthcoming album will feature her first original material in seven years.
Other recent releases include “Otra Vez” by Aitana, “Si Es Cierto Que Te Vas” by Carin Leon, and “Qué Prefieres?” by Boza and Beéle. Which new Latin music release is your favourite this week?
