During The ACL Festival, Beto O’Rourke Gives Kacey Musgraves A Beer.

Kacey Musgraves appears to be supporting Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke.

During the “Butterflies” singer’s headlining set this weekend at Austin City Limits Music Festival’s second weekend, he told the crowd, “Honestly, I could use a drink.” “Does anyone have any beer or anything out there?”

O’Rourke then surprised the audience by briefly entering the stage and handing Musgraves a bottle of beer. Despite the fact that the duo said nothing about the interaction, the country singer-songwriter sipped the beverage and said, “That really hit the spot.” Before walking off the stage to enjoy the rest of the show, O’Rourke is seen waving to the cheering crowd.

The week before, Harry Styles showed his support for O’Rourke during his Love on Tour Austin show, wearing a black-and-white sticker with the words “Beto for Texas” on the bottom right corner of his guitar.

The gubernatorial candidate ran as a Democrat for President of the United States in 2020. O’Rourke ran for the U.S. Senate in Texas as a Democrat in 2018. In the general election, incumbent Senator Ted Cruz defeated O’Rourke by just three percentage points.
