What’s Your Favorite Long-Running Hot 100 Hit, From Glass Animals to Imagine Dragons? Vote!
“Heat Waves” by Glass Animals set a new record this week as the Billboard Hot 100’s longest-running hit. The No. 1 hit officially surpassed The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” by spending 91 weeks on the chart on Oct. 22.
And now that Dave Bayley and his bandmates are the reigning record holders as a result of their single’s remarkable, slow-burning success, we want to know which long-running Hot 100 hit is your favourite.
Only 10 songs have spent at least 68 weeks on the all-genre chart since its inception in 1958, including hits by Imagine Dragons, AWOLNATION, Dua Lipa, and others.
Do you prefer “Blinding Lights” or “Heat Waves”? Which gets your heart pumping faster: Dan Reynold’s ferocious performance of “Radioactive” or AWOLNATION’s glitchy, hard-charging “Sail”? Does Dua’s “Levitating” send you soaring, or are you still in love with Jason Mraz’s 2008 single “I’m Yours” after all these years?
The oldest song on the list is LeAnn Rimes’ 1997 country smash “How Do I Live,” which is tied for seventh place with The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears” at 69 weeks. (Yes, the artist known as Abel Tesfaye is the only musician to have two hits among the Hot 100’s longest-running tracks.)

Was “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic an unstoppable force on your playlists a decade ago? Or were you too preoccupied with partying to LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock?
While we celebrate Glass Animals’ latest achievement, cast your vote for your favourite long-running Hot 100 song below.
