Jin of BTS Announces Solo Project: ‘A Single Will Be Released Soon’
Jin of BTS will release a solo single soon, making him the second member of the superstar K-pop group to do so since the group announced their hiatus.
Jin’s announcement was made from the stage on October 15 at the massive BTS “Yet to Come” concert in Busan, South Korea, which was livestreamed in collaboration with Weverse. The boy band’s seven members — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — announced in June that they would be taking a break from active group activities to pursue solo work.
“I got the chance to work with someone I like, so a single will be released soon,” Jin revealed to the screaming ARMY audience at the show. Jin has previously teased fans with a handful of one-off songs, including “Tonight” (2019), “Abyss” (2020), and “Yours” and “Super Tuna” (2019). (2021).
J-Hope addressed the future of BTS from the stage, telling fans, “I think we’re in a phase where we need your trust.”
Following BTS’s announcement of a break in July, J-Hope released his first official solo project, the album Jack in the Box. J-first Hope’s proper studio album (despite releasing a solo mixtape in 2018 and a song with Becky G in 2019), it was released on BTS’ label Big Hit Music and featured the singles “MORE.” and “Arson.”
“Although it’s unfortunate that the concert is coming to an end, it’s not like we only have today.” “We will continue for 30 years… and even perform when we are 70 years old,” Jimin said at Saturday’s Busan performance.
“All seven members have the same thoughts right now,” RM later added. We will continue to create and perform music if you trust us, as Jimin stated.”
