Kasabian’s ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ Is The Sixth Be-Selling Single In The United Kingdom.
Kasabian’s seventh studio album, The Alchemist’s Euphoria (via Columbia), extends its massive midweek lead to becoming the week’s top album in the United Kingdom.
Starting with Empire in 2006, the Leicester rockers have had six consecutive No. 1 albums. This puts them on par with Pink Floyd, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Blur, Paul Weller, and The Chemical Brothers, among others.
According to the Official Charts Company, The Alchemist’s Euphoria, the first album to feature founding guitarist Sergio Pizzorno on lead vocals, finished the cycle with a two-to-one sales advantage over its nearest competitor.
Another new entry is Pale Waves’ Unwanted (Dirty Hit), which debuted at No. 4. It is the follow-up to the band’s previous album, 2021’s Who Am I?, which peaked at No. 3 on the charts, and the Manchester group’s third studio album overall.
Baz Luhrmann’s biopic of Elvis propels Elvis Presley’s career retrospective ELV1S – 30 Number 1 Hits (via RCA) to number seven. ELV1S dropped out of the top ten and out of the spotlight in January 2003.
Danger Mouse and Black Thought’s Cheat Codes (No. 28 on BMG), the ska group The Dualers (No. 26 on Sunbelt with Voices From The Sun), and the ’80s synthpop group Erasure all make their first Top 40 appearances this week.
