Meghan Trainor Wants To Have A Baby In 2023: ‘I’ve Got To Get Started!’
Meghan Trainor revealed in a new interview on Tuesday (Dec. 20) that she wants to start a family in 2023.
“Hopefully, I’ll be pregnant,” the pop singer told People when asked about her New Year’s resolutions. “I’m trying to have four children, so I’d better get started!”
Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara already have a son Riley, who will turn two early next year, and she says the experience of becoming a mother has inspired her to set higher goals.
“After having a baby, I felt like there was nothing I couldn’t do,” she went on. “So now I’m just trying to cross everything off my bucket list.”
Motherhood also had an impact on Trainor’s music, with her most recent album, Takin’ It Back, featuring a return to the throwback doo-wop sound that made her famous — all while addressing this new chapter in her life on songs like “Don’t I Make It Look Easy,” “Superwoman,” and “Mama Wanna Mambo,” which featured Natti Natasha and Arturo Sandoval.
The studio set also includes her most recent single, “Made You Look,” which she recently explained in an exclusive interview with Billboard as having helped her regain confidence after giving birth. “I was already struggling to love my body, especially after having a baby,” she explained. “I was covered in a C-section scar that crossed over all my stretch marks, and I was really struggling to like myself in front of my own husband.”
“So, I was in the shower one day and I was like, ‘Yeah, they could dress me in all these fancy clothes, but when I’m at my grungiest and at home, that’s when my husband is like, ‘You’re the prettiest girl in the world,'” she says. “You’re the hottest,” she says. Trainor continued. “I wanted to write a song about it, and I wrote the chorus in the shower.
