Music Categories At The 2022 Creative Arts Emmys Are Dominated By First-Time Winners.

The music categories were dominated by first-time winners at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys, which were held on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4. (Sept 4). The awards were given out at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer received two awards for his work on The White Lotus: outstanding original main title theme music and outstanding music composition for a limited or anthology series, film, or special (original dramatic score).

On the same day, Cinco Paul received the award for outstanding original music and lyrics for Schmigadoon!, Nora Felder received the award for outstanding music supervision for Stranger Things, and David Shapiro received the award for outstanding music composition for a series (original dramatic score) for Severance.

Paul, 58, is best known for his work as a screenwriter. He specialises in writing screenplays for animated films with Ken Daurio, such as Horton Hears a Who, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets, and all three Despicable Me films. Schmigadoon’s creator, executive producer, and lyricist is Paul!

Two of the seven music categories were presented at the inaugural Creative Arts Emmys ceremony on Saturday. The award for outstanding music direction went to the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent. David Schwartz won the award for outstanding music composition for a documentary series or special for his work on Lucy and Desi (original dramatic score).

On Sunday, 48 categories were awarded, which was a few more than the 45 presented on Saturday.

Only Murders in the Building earned Nathan Lane his first Emmy nomination for best guest actor in a comedy series. Lane has three Tony Awards to her name.

Adele: One Night Only, Euphoria, Stranger Things, The Beatles: Get Back, and The White Lotus each won five Creative Arts Emmys on both nights.

With four wins each, Arcane and Squid Game are tied for second place, followed by Barry, Love on the Spectrum U.S., Only Murders in the Building, and The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.

With two wins each, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Hacks, How I Met Your Father, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, Love, Death + Robots, Lucy and Desi, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Severance, and We’re Here are tied for second place.

Will Files (re-recording mixer, co-supervising sound editor), Craig Henighan (re-recording mixer, co-supervising sound editor), Peter Jackson (director, producer), Alberto Mielgo (character designer, writer/director), Cristobal Tapia de Veer (composer), and Ben Winston (re-recording mixer, co-supervising sound editor) each won two Emmys on both nights (executive producer).

An edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards presented on both nights will air on FXX on September 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and will be available on Hulu from September 11-27.

The remaining 25 categories will be presented at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, September 12. Furthermore, the ceremony will be held at Microsoft Theater. The event will be hosted by Kenan Thompson. With 25 nominations, Succession is the most nominated film, followed by Ted Lasso and The White Lotus, both with 20 nominations, and Hacks and Only Murders in the Building, both with 17 nominations.
