Pixies Release “Vault of Heaven” And Announce A Four-City US Tour.

The latest preview of the Pixies upcoming eighth album, “Doggerel,” is a smoky and melodic alternative rock track called “Vault Of Heaven.” In conjunction with the release of this sample, the band has also announced a brief US tour.(Pixies)

The music video for “Vault Of Heaven” was directed by Charles Derenne and features all of the craziness that the song demands. In the video, a man dressed in a Speedo and Zorro costume rides a toy pony into a 7-Eleven. When he arrives, he dances with puppeteered plush toys and is joined by a cast of unusual impersonators, including an elderly Marilyn Monroe and a Black Elvis. Examine the following illustration:

“Vault Of Heaven” is the second track from “Doggerel” to be made available for streaming and download, following “There’s A Moon On,” which was released in June. Following the album’s release on BMG on September 30, there will be concerts in San Diego on October 1, Anaheim on October 2, and Los Angeles on October 3. They’ll then have a day off before traveling to New York City to perform at Terminal 5. (Pixies)

Francis stated that the band was “trying to do things that are very big, bold, and orchestrated” when announcing their new album, “Doggerel.” “The punky stuff, I really like playing it, but you just can’t artificially create that shit,” he continued. “Some of the events of the last few years, with the Presidential election in the United States and Donald Trump and all that other nonsense, and then the coronavirus pandemic and now the worldwide recession, amid these extreme weather patterns, add all this stuff together and it starts to feel very hopeless,” said the frontman.

The Pixies have begun a European and United Kingdom tour, where they will perform a number of headline shows and festival appearances until the first week of September. The End of the Road and Electric Picnic are two such festivals this year.
