‘Reality Feels Like A Nightmare,’ Offset Mourns Takeoff In Emotional Post
“Dear Take, posting you like this doesn’t feel real…. This is still not feeling like reality. I’ve been looking for the right words to say, but none have come to mind. Rest In Power until we meet again. “I love you,” the rapper captioned a tribute to his late bandmate and first cousin on Instagram.
Offset included a longer letter to Takeoff at the front of the slideshow of photos and memories, which was shot down in the early hours of Nov. 1 at a Houston bowling alley. “Dear Mr. Take, The pain you’ve caused me is unbearable. “My heart is broken, and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the right words,” he wrote. “I’ve been sleeping and waking up hoping that it’s all a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.” When you saw me, you didn’t give me a dap; you gave me a hug.
“I wish I could hug you one more time,” Migos continued. “One last laugh.” Smoke one more time. Perform once more. Someone with a soul like yours is now in heaven. I hope you understand how much we adore and miss you. You’ve left a gaping hole in my heart that will never be filled. Give me courage, give your brothers courage, give your family courage.”
Offset concluded the letter by requesting that his cousin “throw me a lil sign or a beautiful dream” to let him know he is still with him.
While Takeoff’s public memorial was held earlier this month at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, celebrities such as Cardi B, Quavo, Drake, and others have also paid tribute to their fallen friend since his tragic death.
