Taylor Swift Teases ‘Midnights’ During Thursday Night Football, And It Looks Like A Lot Of Music Videos Are On The Way
Taylor Swift teased her 10th studio album, Midnights, during the Thursday Night Football game between the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 20, just hours before it was released in stores and on streaming services.
Swift described the first look as a “teaser trailer of the secret projects I’ve been working on for a really long time” in her introduction. Those projects are the Midnights Music Movies, which are music videos I created for this album to visually explore the world of the record. I love storytelling, songwriting, writing videos, and directing them, and this was a really fun opportunity to work again with cinematographer Rina Yang, who was my collaborator on the 10-minute short film All Too Well. So we really wanted to push ourselves to try new things and stretch ourselves this time, and I’m really proud of what we created and hope you enjoy it. “We worked with some incredible actors, who you can learn more about at the end of the teaser trailer,” she said, referring to the credits.
More information will have to wait until Midnights and the first music videos — for “Anti-Hero,” which will be released at 3 a.m. ET — arrive.
Taylor announced the trailer ahead of the Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime, telling fans, “You would see it before the Midnights album came out, so meet me there?”
If you’re a Swiftie and don’t already have a Prime account, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial today and watch the Midnights teaser in tonight’s game. Amazon Prime will cost $14.99 per month after your first free month, or $139 for the annual plan.
