Watch TREASURE Perform Their New K-Pop Single “Hello”
TREASURE is ushering in a new era with one of the year’s catchiest K-pop singles.
The boy band’s new EP The Second Step: Chapter Two follows The Second Step: Chapter One from February, which delivered the group’s best showing on Billboard’s Global charts to date: lead single “JikJin” reached No. 110 on the Global 200, and B-side “Darari” entered the chart at No. 169 following a surge of viral activity.
The latest single “Hello” was co-written and co-produced by TREASURE members Choi Hyunsuk, Yoshi, and Haruto. It features pulsating synthesisers that follow the guys from jock-jam dance breakdowns to stylish rap sections. The repetitive lines of the chorus (“I’m like, ‘Hello, hello, hello, where have you been all my life?'” and “Yeah, I’m looking, looking, looking for you”) provide TREASURE with a number of irresistible hooks that make the song an easy earworm.
“Hello” and the new phrase The Second Step: Chapter Two is the most recent album to be released by TREASURE and features a variety of unique characteristics. The five-track EP features songs performed by various subgroups of TREASURE members, including the rock-rap track “VolKno” by Hyunsuk, Yoshi, and Haruto, and the rock track “Thank You” by Asahi and Haruto. The Second Step: Chapter Two is also the first time TREAUSRE has performed with ten members, as Bang Yedam and Mashiho have taken time away from the group to focus on their studies and health, respectively.
