Kanye West Acknowledges He Hasn’t ‘Read Any Book’: ‘Reading Is Like Eating Brussels Sprouts For Me’
Reading is essential… unless you’re Kanye West. In a new interview published on Friday (Sept. 16), the rapper admitted to hating all things literary.
“When you said I hadn’t read this book, I actually hadn’t read any book,” he explained to the Alo Mind Full podcast. “For me, reading is like eating Brussels sprouts. And talking is equivalent to obtaining the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli.
Despite his admission, Ye continued to trade philosophical proverbs with host Danny Harris, who was expounding on his love for a book whose title he didn’t actually share. “There are two types of people: those who believe they can and those who believe they cannot.” “And they’re both correct,” he declared, smiling. “That’s what you were saying, but it was a shortened version.”
“That’s right…,” the Alo Yoga co-founder continued.
Yes, the person who believes they can win the race will win. “The acorn contains the oak.”
“Now we talk about language, what I did realise is, sometimes, it’s not that I’m not right — wait for it, watch I’ve got a good one, here we go — sometimes I’m just not right now,” West said of his unconventional approach to music, fashion design, and other business ventures. It’s not right now, and you’re not wrong. It’s just not the right time. … And I have to be here because being too far ahead is not a good thing. What are you going to do then? You’ve lost your audience.”
West announced earlier this week that he had parted ways with Gap following the launch of Yeezy Gap in the retailer’s stores across the country. However, his contract with Gap Inc. is set to expire in 2030, and he still has an active contract with Adidas.
